Christy Tveit, a native of Southern California, originally expressed her creative abilities through Landscape Architecture. Her passion for design reveals itself in many venues mosaics, ceramics, wrought iron designs, and painting. Christy's love for working with plants and the land is fostered by her belief that spirituality is connected to nature and the garden. "My journey toward art is a spiritual one; working from intuition, it is from that quiet sacred space from within that I create my designs. I view life as an opportunity to trust in Spirit, learn to believe in oneself, and to share the inspiration we receive. We all travel different roads to our spiritual awakening, this work represents a part of my journey. I enjoy layering the colors and watching the painting evolve before me. The title for each piece often comes before the painting itself. With color and shapes I tell my story, with the hope that each piece holds a story for the viewer as well." Christy enjoys studying the works of many of the Masters, Monet, Van Gough, Matisse; and is particularly intrigued with the work of Stanton Macdonald-Wright and his philosophy,"synchronism", dealing with the relationship between color and sound.
